Synadia Named as Fast Mover & Innovator in GigaOm Radar Report for Full-Stack Edge & AI Deployments

Synadia’s open source NATS-based, full-stack edge deployment platform has been empowering developers, operators, and IT leaders for over seven years. How? By accelerating the delivery of globally distributed applications and services across edge, cloud, IoT, and on-premises environments from automotive to industrial IoT and manufacturing companies.

That’s why Synadia, the creators and maintainers of NATS offering a full-stack, edge-native, AI-ready, “runs everywhere” platform with ultra-low latency and real-time access to microservices and data, was recognized in the 2025 GigaOm Full-Stack Edge Deployment Radar as a “fast mover and innovator.”

In its report, GigaOm evaluated 16 leading full-stack deployment offerings based on key features, emerging technology, and other business criteria. According to GigaOm,

“Full-stack edge deployment solutions are cloud-managed and cloud-connected hyperconverged tools that provide all the capabilities necessary to run applications at customers’ preferred locations for local data collection and processing.”

Why Synadia for Full-Stack Edge Deployments

Here’s why GigaOm recognized Synadia as an “up and coming” platform for full-stack (messaging, data streaming and persistence, connectors, and workloads to external systems) edge deployments:

  • Proficiency in a broad range of key features
  • Top-grade plug-and-play provisioning
  • Cloud-like management
  • Superior cluster management
  • Near infinite scalability
  • High resiliency for business continuity
  • Attention to critical emerging features

Proficiency in a broad range of key features

Overall, Synadia is recognized as a comprehensive and well-rounded platform for connecting distributed applications across multiple geographies, clouds, or out to the edge without a dependency on external software.

When evaluating a full-stack edge deployment solution according to essential criteria, GigaOm noted Synadia strengths as:

  • Plug-and-play provisioning
  • Cloud-like management
  • Cluster management
  • DevOps suitability
  • Edge security
  • Visibility and monitoring

These six features make Synadia a powerful choice for any organization managing distributed systems.

GigaOm also noted that Synadia stands out in areas where other platforms fall short, offering a uniquely resilient and low-latency solution that is simple to deploy and manage.

Top-Grade Plug-and-Play Provisioning

GigaOm called special attention to Synadia’s seamless connectivity between Control Plane and NATS, allowing for simplified deployment. GigaOm notes:

“If Control Plane and NATS are on the same network, Control Plane will be able to directly connect to the NATS servers, and they will be visible in the interface. However, if Control Plane can’t communicate with the NATS servers directly, the Private Link component can be used to run locally next to the NATS server that will establish an outbound connection to Control Plane and self-register.”

With Synadia’s foundational connectivity messaging layer for distributed systems, developers no longer need to build and manage complex data pipelines within their compute resources, thus simplifying application design.

Cloud-like management

In the report, GigaOm also described how developers will experience the same management ease of use with Synadia as with the cloud. With Synadia, a uniform interface allows NATS-powered workloads to run on various cloud and edge-native runtimes, untangling what is often complicated on traditional IT infrastructures. According to GigaOm,

“NATS eliminates the need to work with IP addresses or FQDNs. Networking functions are implemented by NATS with pub/sub, streaming, Key-Value, and the rest of its functionalities.”

Superior cluster management

Another GigaOm identified strength of Synadia is outstanding cluster management. “Synadia Cloud is a global supercluster spanning the entire world and multiple cloud providers,” which is why every industry — from manufacturing to retail and even gaming — is leveraging NATS to bolster connectivity worldwide. Beyond super-clustering, Synadia’s leaf nodes enable edge environments to connect securely to a global NATS supercluster, offering hierarchical extensibility and localized autonomy. GigaOm notes that these leaf nodes can be daisy-chained, adding that this capability significantly bolsters Synadia’s cluster management ability.

Near infinite scalability

Whether your business is looking to scale out, scale down, or scale up, GigaOm highlights Synadia as a full-stack edge deployment solution ready to support your specific needs. Notably, the analyst firm gave Synadia five stars (an “exceptional” rating) in scale-down support, meaning that our solution has the ability to accommodate resource-constrained IoT devices and other small-form-factor edge hardware by optimizing runtime, compilers, and system services for minimal memory and CPU usage.

Synadia also scored four stars (a “superior” rating) in scale-out support; Synadia can manage an immense number of geographically distributed edge nodes. Synadia’s solution allows users to deploy, configure, and manage all components in one spot — allowing for streamlined connectivity across thousands of distributed nodes, if needed.

Our mission at Synadia was to make sure any size business could utilize NATS, Synadia Cloud, and Synadia Platform, no matter what their specific use case may be. This is the key to democratizing modern connectivity.

High resiliency for business continuity

Among other superior-rated strengths, GigaOm gave Synadia four stars for resiliency, noting that the platform supports business continuity and prevents unwanted downtime. Even if central cloud services fail, Synadia’s edge nodes ensure resiliency through things like data redundancy and diverse network connections.

Synadia’s NATS leaf nodes are another critical tool for maintaining constant connectivity, providing a local NATS network even when the connection to a hub or the cloud is unavailable. Leaf nodes also bridge contrasting infrastructure and security boundaries, bringing simplicity to complex network topologies to boost resilience.

Staying ahead of the curve with emerging features

Finally, GigaOm’s report includes an analysis on how each vendor is implementing capabilities that are not yet mainstream, but are expected to become more widespread over the next year or so. With our dedication to innovation and future-proofing, it’s no surprise that Synadia’s solution was recognized with five stars for edge-native runtime. Synadia enables truly nomadic applications that run anywhere — from cloud to constrained edge environments — using a unified stack for connectivity, data, and workloads without the complexity of traditional orchestration.

GigaOm also takes notice of Synadia’s push to build up other emerging features such as edge AI and Development Environments and SDKs.

Synadia’s strengths highlighted in the latest GigaOm report on full-stack edge deployment solutions demonstrate the innovation behind Synadia’s capabilities.

With Synadia, businesses can be sure they are investing in an advanced platform delivering key traditional functions while also enabling full-stack modernization for edge, cloud, IoT, and on- premises deployments.
