The agentic AI era will be heterogeneous. Coordination is the next problem.

Agentic AI is upon us. What this means for all of us is still being worked out. We are at the beginning. But what we at Synadia believe is that we are returning to simple and composable foundational technologies.

Agents will be specialized: custom local models, multiple models, the right tools, and the right harness for the job. There will be many of them. How they discover, coordinate, and communicate will be the next evolution of agentic AI.

There are already lots of agent ecosystems competing for this future. On one side are independent and community-driven platforms like OpenClaw, Nous Research’s Hermes, and pi.dev.

On the other are integrated enterprise environments like OpenAI’s Workspace agents, Anthropic’s Claude Managed Agents, Azure AI Foundry, Vertex AI Agent Builder, and Vercel’s OpenAgent. Each has a story for how multiple agents work together inside its own walls.

Enterprises will want choice

That is where we see the larger opportunity. The enterprises that win will combine the strengths of these ecosystems and pick the best one for the specific job. Locking into a single vendor’s notion of multi-agent coordination is the wrong default.

Synadia believes unlocking this opportunity matters. Today’s release is the first in a series of product and SDK rollouts over the coming months.

The rise of the meta-agent

We are starting with agent orchestration: the rise of the meta-agent. A meta-agent is an agent or application whose job is to coordinate other agents. With our SDK, agents from any harness, runtime, or ecosystem become discoverable to a meta-agent and can communicate with it over a common, secure substrate built on Synadia technology powered by NATS.io.

We start with discoverability, identity, security, and meta-agent to worker-agent communication. Next we will extend the same capabilities to agent-to-agent discovery, communication, and capability negotiation. Realtime events to agents are coming soon after.

I encourage you to watch the launch video:

Get connected and get involved

Check out the GitHub repo at github.com/synadia-ai/synadia-agents, run the examples, and connect agents from any harness in minutes. We want feedback. We want to build this foundation layer with the community and the broader ecosystem.
