Objectives
- Design and develop connectors that bridge industrial systems with NATS messaging infrastructure.
- Collaborate on client development to enable NATS capabilities on resource-constrained devices.
- Contribute to user-defined edge protocol and SDK development.
- Build robust, production-ready integrations with industrial equipment and protocols.
Role Requirements and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain connectors for various industrial protocols and systems (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, etc.).
- Work with the engineering team to design and implement RTOS client capabilities with appropriate guidance and support.
- Contribute to the development of edge computing solutions using NATS for industrial IoT scenarios.
- Create comprehensive documentation and examples for manufacturing system integrations.
- Stay current with manufacturing industry standards and emerging IIoT technologies.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of software development experience with strong programming skills in Go, C/C++, or Rust.
- Experience with industrial protocols and systems (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, or similar).
- Understanding of real-time systems concepts and embedded programming fundamentals.
- Familiarity with industrial IoT architectures and edge computing concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NATS.io or similar messaging technologies.
- Knowledge of RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.).
- Background in industrial automation or manufacturing systems.
- Understanding of security best practices for industrial systems.

Compensation
The salary is in the range of $150,000 - $170,000 and includes equity and benefits.
