As a senior customer solutions architect you’re the trusted advisor responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their business needs, and designing technical solutions that meet or exceed those requirements.  

You’ve worked with NATS enough to ensure the successful delivery of solutions that drive customer satisfaction and business success.

You effectively help customers make the best technology choices to support their business goals and may have to change someone’s mind if they don’t have the expertise to support their business outcomes.

You provide guidance on best practices and use of NATS and Synadia solutions.  

You’re an advocate for your customers internally at Synadia. 

Key Responsibilities

Customers

• Build and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders.

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers.

• Understand the customer's business objectives, challenges, and pain points.

• Conduct the “new customer” kick off call and architecture review.  

• Be the voice of the customer internally to influence technical and product decisions.

• Partner with support when your knowledge of the customer's environment can enhance their experience.
  
  

Solution Design

• Assess and analyze customer requirements to develop technical solutions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to design and architect solutions that align with industry best practices.

• Create detailed solution proposals, including architecture diagrams, cost estimates, and timelines.
  
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Provide deep technical knowledge and guidance to customers.

• Identify opportunities to optimize and enhance existing customer environments.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) is often required. A master's degree is a plus.

• Four +  years of success in a technical role, such as Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or similar.

• Experience using, designing or developing messaging, queuing and stream processing technologies, such as, but not limited to NATS.io, JMS, MQTT, AMQP, Kafka, RabbitMQ

• Experience with distributed systems such as shared-nothing data stores.

• Experience with micro-services architectures and technologies

• Development experience, preferably in (but not limited to) Go (golang)

• Experience interacting with user groups and open source communities. 

• Experience or familiarity with IoT architectures

• Experience with Kubernetes 

• Knowledge of web, security and virtualization technologies (including containers and container orchestration)

• Understanding networking of protocols such as TCP-/P, UDP, TLS, HTTP, Websockets, Certs 

• Experience using and deploying software infrastructure on public cloud providers

• Excellent customer communications skills, and ability to convey technical concepts and details in a way that is easily consumed by all levels of customer contacts from system administrators to C-level.

• Proven customer management skills. Ability to handle critical/urgent/high-pressure situations calmly and professionally

• A solid technical foundation, including an in-depth understanding of the enterprise software and data center infrastructure spaces

• Certifications relevant to the technology stack used by the company or industry (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Architect) may be beneficial.
